Question 1.Please let us know more about your journey, how and from where you started?
Started as an adhoc teacher to school counselor. Then became a counseling psychologist and psychology teacher, coordinator an

 

 

Question 2. Being a Change-maker, how can you contribute towards the betterment of the community of Teachers and Principals?
By sharing my knowledge both academic- English and Psychology, technology in education and counseling skills for team building and staff management.

 

 

Question 3. What kind of support would you like to provide to teachers and fellow educators?
Answering their queries related to career advancement on Forum., Mentoring and guiding fellow educators., Organising webinars or workshop for community.

 

 

Question 4.Please mention some of your skills that can help community members.
Technology based interactive classroom, counseling and mentoring, team building, psychology education, special education

 

 

Question 5.The transition from an individual contributor to a leadership role must have required specific skills, what skills do you think are critical for teachers for such transition? Were there any challenges as well, If yes then how did you overcome those challenges?
Being a psychologist helps me to be a people's person and empathetic to their needs. My skills have definitely helped me to reach where I am as I could close the loop of students, teachers and parents expectations.

 

 

Question 6. How would you describe your leadership style?
I am a team player and believe in empowering my team members. I delegate tasks according to strengths of each member and encourage them and show my trust and faith in them which in turn brings enthusiasm and zeal of doing and trying something new. I am a people's person and believe in nurturing people.

 

 

Question 7. What advice would you give to a new teacher?
Be passionate for the profession and yearn for learning cause learning has just begun. Passion and enthusiasm are the key for success.

 

 

Question 8.What would be your ideal school environment, and how would you encourage that kind of culture?
An ideal environment would be where everyone learns from each other and are challenged to strengthen their skills and improvise their shortcomings.

 

 

Question 9. How would you develop an inclusive environment in your school?
Every child deserves a compassionate treatment and should be understood by their teachers, fellow classmates and their own parents. Inclusion is the essence of this and we need to sensitize our teachers and students towards them.

 

 

Question 10.As the position of a Principal requires intense time management, how do you organize your day to meet the plethora of requirements and commitments required as the School Principal?
Prioritize my work according to the demands of the day and backward planning. I believe no leader can be effective until its team is ready to take the challenges. Delegation and supervision is the key.

 

 

Question 11. What is your opinion on the use of technology in classrooms? Were there any challenges that you faced in integrating technology?
Since I am completely comfortable in using technology in making classrooms interactive, I shared my skills and expertise with my teachers to help them in transacting with their students. I think this has become the need of the hour too.

 

 

Question 12.Do you feel there are any gaps in the present education system? If so, how do you feel one can fill those gaps?
Nothing is perfect or imperfect. We need to constantly keep on challenging ourselves to new models and work on the existing ones for a better education for our children.

 

 

Question 13. Would you like to share any specific message to the community of teachers and principals?
Believe in yourself and be empathetic towards each other. This is a tough time and this too shall pass.
