First thing first, fix the days on which homework is a must like Monday to Wednesday or every alternate day through the week. Secondly, don’t ignore the unfinished homework or the students will make it a habit. Follow a policy like making them complete it in recess. Third thing is to do spot checking of the homework and give effort points whenever possible. Finally, check and correct the notebooks whenever you collect them.
