Well, the practice of locking the classroom door varies from school to school but it’s a vital security concern. Some teachers lock the door while teaching that allows only the people with a key (admin authorities) to enter the classroom. Having said that, it is also equally important to safeguard against a lockdown situation so the doors which can be locked/opened both ways are perfect. Other than that, measures like putting a magnet inside the frame can also keep the door from completely shutting down.
