If you need time for any paperwork like grading their papers or correcting the spelling tests during the class, it’s better to keep it towards the end of the day. You can engage the kids in some sort of activities like independent reading, drawing or coloring where they would quietly do their work and you can do yours. If you’re grading them, they’re likely to cooperate even more because they would want to know their scores as early as possible.
