Job Brief :
NCR Eduservices is seeking a dedicated and experienced Overseas College Counselor to join our team.
The Overseas College Counselor will play a pivotal role in assisting students who aspire to pursue higher
education abroad, providing comprehensive guidance and support throughout the application process.
Key Responsibilities:
● Provide personalized counseling and support to students interested in studying abroad,
helping them explore educational opportunities and navigate the complexities of the
international admissions process.
● Assist students in identifying their academic interests, career goals, and preferred study
destinations, and help them develop a tailored plan for studying abroad.
● Conduct individualized assessments of students' academic backgrounds, extracurricular
activities, and personal interests to determine suitable overseas colleges and universities.
● Guide students through each stage of the college application process including researching
colleges, preparing application materials, and meeting deadlines for admissions requirements.
● Coordinate with international universities and admissions offices to obtain information on
admission criteria, application procedures, scholarships, and financial aid opportunities.
● Advise students on standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, TOEFL, and IELTS, including
providing test preparation resources and strategies.
● Assist students in writing compelling personal statements, essays, and resumes that showcase
their academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, and personal strengths.
Qualifications:
● Master's degree in counseling, higher education, or a related field from an accredited
institution.
● Minimum of 2 years of experience in college counseling or advising, with a focus on
international or overseas admissions.
● In-depth knowledge of international education systems, college admissions processes, and
visa requirements for studying abroad.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students,
parents, and overseas university representatives.
● Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine interest in supporting students from diverse
backgrounds in achieving their academic and career goals.
● Familiarity with online research tools, databases, and resources for exploring international
educational opportunities and programs.
● Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and
discretion.
● Proficiency in using technology tools and software for organizing and managing counseling
resources and student data.
● Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on trends and best
practices in international college counseling and higher education.
