SMK Fomra Institute of Technology (SMKFIT) was founded by Motilal Kanhaiyalal Fomra Charitable Trust with the sole aim of imparting an education that thoroughly prepares students for a professional career in any field of their choice. The college was established in the year 2001 and is affiliated to Anna University Chennai. It is an ISO 9001:2015 certified Institution. The institution is located at Rajiv Gandhi Road (OMR) spread over a sprawling area of 25 acres near Kelambakkam, Chennai. SMK Fomra Institute of Technology offers 6 Undergraduate Programmes viz. B.E. in Bio-Medical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering and 4 Postgraduate Programmes viz. M.E. in VLSI Design, Computer Science and Engineering, Power Systems Engineering and Thermal Engineering. The institution is well supported by highly qualified teaching, non-teaching, and administrative staff. The college is provided with Infrastructural facilities as stipulated by the approving statutory body, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
