Job Description

Mandatory Requirements:

  • - B. Tech/B.E., M.E. M.Tech. and PhD (in Engineering) from premier Institutions like IITs, NIITs, all through First class.
  • - 15 years of teaching experience in a reputed Engineering College followed by at least 3 years in the role of a professor/Principal of a reputed Engineering College.
  • - Should have good record of Research and Development.
  • - Must have published good amount of papers in Indexed Journals.
  • - Strong exposure to Statutory Guidelines of AICTE, UGC and Maharashtra Universities
  • - Must have led Accreditation of Engineering Institutions for NAAC, NBA.
  • - Well networked with the Corporate World for Industry Academia initiatives.

Purpose: To serve as the chief administrator of a school in developing and implementing policies, programs, curriculum activities, and budgets in a manner that promotes the educational development of each student and the professional development of each staff member.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Ensure 100 % admissions in all branches of Under Graduate Program under Convenor and Management Quota.
  2. Strengthening the Academic Delivery Mechanism to enhance Students- Performance.
  3. To ensure that Students undergo rigorous Training for enhancing their Employability Skills and facilitate quality placements. To ensure 80% placements of all the Eligible students.
  4. To Facilitate Summer Internship for 4th and full semester internship for 7th and 8th Semester students.
  5. To create Value Adding MOUs with Industry and Institutes of repute in the form of Student Training, Academic Exchange Programs etc.
  6. To attract, develop and retain Qualified Faculty members. Ensure 50% of faculty members are PhD qualified.
  7. Develop an active Visiting Faculty network from Institutions of Excellence (like IITs, NIITs and such) to come and lecture our students in each department.
  8. Encourage Faculty members to publish in journals and conference (50% should be indexed in SCOUPUS /SCI).
  9. Ensure all PhD qualified faculty members to submit Funded Research proposal in various funding agencies like DST/ UGC/ NRB/ BRNS etc. to the tune of 6-7 crores.
  10. Establish Centers of Excellence in designated disciplines in liaison with the University and other premier Institutions.
  11. Encourage and ensure the students participation in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to acquire the requisite credits.
  12. Minimum 15% students to participate in Paper Presentations, 30% in Tech Fests.
  13. To maintain the parameters of accreditation for NBA for all Branches. To ensure the adherence to UGC guidelines for Autonomous status.
  14. Participate in 10 Regional level ranking surveys and ensure rankings of within 100.
  15. Interact with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders to meet the accountabilities. The stakeholders would include-External Stakeholders: - Statutory Bodies- Solapur University, AICTE, UGC, NBA, NAAC etc,- Research Funding Agencies- DST, UGC, Railway etc.
