01 — The role
Job Description
Role and responsibilities:-
- Planning and preparing courses and lessons. Maintaining up to date subject knowledge related to CBSE preparation for Classes 10th to 12th.
- Be proactively involved in teaching students.
- Motivating, facilitating, teaching, according to the pupil's educational needs.
- Plan, prepare and present lessons that cater to the needs of the whole ability range within their class. Preparing weekly assignments for each batch assigned to him/her.
- Timely correction and marking of assignment work carried out by the students in class and elsewhere.
- Assessing, recording and reporting on the development and progress of students.
- Communicating, consulting and providing feedback to the parents of students during PTM or as and when the requirement / need arises.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Strong knowledge of Physics subject and ability to teach same to class 11th and 12th class learners.
- Candidates with School Teaching Experience along with experience in scholastic exam training will be preferred.
- Candidates must have a clear understanding of teaching and learning needs of Foundation
- Course students, who need to excel in School as well as Competitive Exams.
- Candidates with a habit of continuous self learning will be preferred.
- Must possess excellent presentation and English communication skills.

About St. Joseph’s Academy
St.Joseph's Boys' Hr. Sec. School is commonly known as St. Joseph's College. It is a residential-cum-day School. It was established in 1888 by the Brothers of St. Patrick (Patrician Brothers). The Principal and the senior staff were all Irishmen till the late sixties. The school is still being run by the Patrician Brothers.
The school stands amidst beautiful surroundings, on the crest of a hill 1800 metres above sea level, just a few minutes walk from both Coonoor and Wellington railway stations. The mean annual temperature being 18.3 degree Celsius.
The school has a strong focus on football and athletics and places equal importance on academics. The school is often referred to as the "Sporting Giant of The Nilgiris", having won the Nilgiris District Inter-School Athletics Championship consecutively for the past 22 years and the Nilgiris District Inter-School Football Championship for more number of times than any other school. The school won the Tamil Nadu state-level inter-school football tournament in 2007 and almost every year has reached at least the semi-finals of this tournament. The school has produced a few state-level athletes and footballers. The students are known as "Josephites"
