In the year 1969 some philanthropists of the Jain Community living in Delhi and New Delhi felt that they should establish an institution commemorating the Jain ideas. Digamber Jain Society for Child Welfare was organized and registered under the Societies Registration Act at Delhi. Since its inception the society has undertaken and organized several projects for the welfare of children in Delhi and other states, besides establishing several public schools. During the International Children's year 1979, the Society further extended its activities to other states as well. Taking into consideration the pressing educational needs in the growing industrial city of Faridabad, the society gave a humble start to MODERN SCHOOL in a rented building in sector-16A. Its name & fame grew fast. By 1983 the school came to have its own spacious and imposing building. With the straggling 9 acre campus in the heart of the city, houses one of the premier and foremost public schools of the country, Modern School Faridabad that follows the close interconnection of the physical, moral and intellectual as its axiom of a sound system of education. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, the foremost examining body of the country. It offers a curriculum from grade 6-12, inclusive of two state/national level exams at the 10th grade and the 12th grade. The strength of the student community is 2500 supported by a committed and qualified teaching faculty and the teacher-student ratio is 1:35. It is partly residential thus extends opportunities to outstation students as well. The Management and the Principal of the school believe in leadership and provide the faculty with an enabling and empowering atmosphere so that they can create independently acting and thinking global individuals who have big dreams for their community, country and the world.
